Exports in the EU

After two years of growth, overseas shipments of antibiotics decreased by X% to X tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a pronounced slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by X%. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, antibiotic exports amounted to $X in 2022. Overall, exports continue to indicate a perceptible downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Spain (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons) represented roughly X% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Italy (X tons) and Belgium (X tons), together mixing up a X% share of total exports. The following exporters - Bulgaria (X tons), Germany (X tons) and France (X tons) - together made up X% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for the Netherlands (with a CAGR of X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of X%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
