Exports in the EU

In 2022, overseas shipments of chromium ores and concentrates increased by X% to X tons, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. Overall, exports, however, recorded a slight curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, chromium ore and concentrate exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

The Netherlands represented the key exporting country with an export of about X tons, which finished at X% of total exports. Belgium (X tons) held a X% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Germany (X%). The following exporters - Italy (X tons) and France (X tons) - each finished at a X% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to chromium ore and concentrate exports from the Netherlands stood at X%. At the same time, Italy (X%), France (X%) and Belgium (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Italy emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the European Union, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Germany (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period.
