In 2021, Austria (X cubic meters) constituted the largest supplier of MDF to Germany, with a 26% share of total imports. Moreover, MDF imports from Austria exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Switzerland (X cubic meters), twofold. Poland (X cubic meters) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 11% share.

Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Romania, France, Hungary, Luxembourg, Spain, the Czech Republic and Russia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 37%.
