Cocoa Bean Market Size in Indonesia

The Indonesian cocoa bean market fell slightly to $X in 2022, shrinking by X% against the previous year. Cocoa Bean Exports

Exports from Indonesia

In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in shipments abroad of cocoa beans, when their volume increased by X% to X tons. Overall, exports, however, recorded a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, cocoa bean exports rose notably to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, showed a deep downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of X%. The exports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Malaysia (X tons) was the main destination for cocoa bean exports from Indonesia, accounting for a X% share of total exports. It was followed by the Philippines (X tons), with a X% share of total exports.

Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, cocoa bean imports dropped to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of X%. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

Ecuador (X tons), Nigeria (X tons) and Cote d'Ivoire (X tons) were the main suppliers of cocoa bean imports to Indonesia, with a combined X% share of total imports.
