From 2020 to 2023, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Botswana (X units), South Africa (X units) and Swaziland (X units) represented roughly X% of total exports in 2023. It was followed by Tanzania (X units), achieving a X% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Botswana (with a CAGR of X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a sharp reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by X%. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2023, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, cellulose pulp machinery imports contracted to $X in 2023. In general, imports, however, recorded a sharp contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2023, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Zambia was the largest importer of machinery for making pulp of fibrous cellulosic material in SADC, with the volume of imports amounting to X units, which was approx. X% of total imports in 2023. Tanzania (X units) took the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Angola (X units) and Mozambique (X units). All these countries together held approx. X% share of total imports. The following importers - Namibia (X units), Zimbabwe (X units) and Democratic Republic of the Congo (X units) - each finished at a X% share of total imports.
Zambia was also the fastest-growing in terms of the machinery for making pulp of fibrous cellulosic material imports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2023.
