In value terms, exports of wood chips, parts, residues, pellets and other agglomerates fell sharply to $X in 2023. In general, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the exports of attained the peak figure at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2023, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

South Africa prevails in agglomerates structure, finishing at X cubic meters, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2023. Swaziland (X cubic meters) and Angola (X cubic meters) followed a long way behind the leaders.

South Africa experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of wood chips, parts, residues, pellets and other agglomerates. At the same time, Angola (X%) and Swaziland (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Angola emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in SADC, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate significant growth. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, imports of wood chips, parts, residues, pellets and other agglomerates expanded notably to $X in 2023. Overall, imports posted a measured expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X%.
