Commercial Printing Price in China (FOB) - 2023

The average commercial printing export price stood at $4,036 per ton in June 2023, approximately reflecting the previous month. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2023 when the average export price increased by 16% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $5,351 per ton. From March 2023 to June 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Australia ($6,762 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($2,798 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Australia (+1.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average commercial printing import price stood at $61,869 per ton in June 2023, with an increase of 22% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $71,822 per ton. From October 2022 to June 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($218K per ton), while the price for South Korea ($23,205 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+6.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, commercial printing exports from China amounted to 1.5M tons, growing by 7% against 2021. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 15%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

In value terms, commercial printing exports rose notably to $7.1B in 2022.
