Biological Product Price in Israel (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average biological product import price amounted to $6,733,595 per ton, rising by 41% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated perceptible growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, biological product import price increased by +56.0% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 53%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $7,659 per kg. From 2019 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($47,517,324 per ton), while the price for Lithuania ($2,097,978 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Switzerland (+16.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Biological Product Price in Israel (FOB) - 2022
The average biological product export price stood at $780,040 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 3.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a drastic downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the average export price increased by 34%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $2,570 per kg. From 2017 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($30,821,758 per ton), while the average price for exports to Switzerland ($241,453 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+20.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Biological Product Imports in Israel
After three years of growth, purchases abroad of biological products decreased by -53.7% to 159 tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 118% against the previous year.
In value terms, biological product imports declined dramatically to $1.1B in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.6% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 43%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $1.6B, and then dropped markedly in the following year.
