In September 2023, the average export price for ammonia; anhydrous or in aqueous solutia amounted to $521 per ton, surging by 38% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a abrupt curtailment. The export price peaked at $1,086 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to September 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Ukraine ($794 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina stood at $738 per ton.
From December 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bosnia and Herzegovina (+1.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

The average import price for ammonia; anhydrous or in aqueous solutia stood at $388 per ton in 2022, surging by 4% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a slight slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average import price increased by 73%. The import price peaked at $433 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Romania ($817 per ton), while the price for Poland ($217 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ukraine (+5.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
