In September 2023, the average import price for ammonia; anhydrous or in aqueous solutia amounted to $370 per ton, with an increase of 10% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a deep contraction. The import price peaked at $740 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to September 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was China ($3,560 per ton), while the price for Indonesia ($352 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2023 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+4.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average export price for ammonia; anhydrous or in aqueous solutia amounted to $972 per ton, picking up by 27% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a perceptible descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 29%. The export price peaked at $1,284 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Cambodia ($1,878 per ton), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($652 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Philippines (+8.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, approx. 390K tons of ammonia; anhydrous or in aqueous solutia were imported into Thailand; which is down by -13.7% against 2021 figures. Overall, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 40% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 452K tons, and then contracted in the following year.
