The average crab and crab meat export price stood at $11,891 per ton in August 2023, rising by 20% against the previous month. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 an increase of 25% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $15,631 per ton. From December 2022 to August 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was France ($20,627 per ton), while the average price for exports to Norway ($3,375 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
