The average human and animal blood export price stood at $415,555 per ton in 2022, falling by -13.9% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, human and animal blood export price decreased by -14.7% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 34% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $487,228 per ton. From 2021 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($1,611,235 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Czech Republic ($70,605 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
