Pumpkin production in Greece declined modestly to 65K tons in 2022, leveling off at the previous year's figure. Overall, production, however, saw significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the production volume increased by 785% against the previous year. As a result, production reached the peak volume of 76K tons. From 2019 to 2022, production growth remained at a lower figure. Pumpkin output in Greece indicated significant growth, which was largely conditioned by a significant increase of the harvested area and significant growth in yield figures.
In value terms, pumpkin production shrank to $31M in 2022 estimated in export price. In general, production, however, recorded significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the production volume increased by 650%. Pumpkin production peaked at $36M in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, production stood at a somewhat lower figure.
