From 2015 to 2023, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, whole fresh milk exports shrank to $X in 2023. In general, exports showed a noticeable descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2023, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

Belarus dominates exports structure, recording X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2023. Russia (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by Kyrgyzstan (X%). Azerbaijan (X tons) and Kazakhstan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Exports from Belarus decreased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2023. At the same time, Azerbaijan (X%) and Kazakhstan (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Azerbaijan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. By contrast, Russia (X%) and Kyrgyzstan (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Azerbaijan (X p.p.) and Kazakhstan (X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2023, the share of Belarus (X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

The export price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2023, which is down by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the export price increased by X%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major exporting countries. In 2023, major exporting countries recorded the following prices: in Kazakhstan ($X per ton) and Azerbaijan ($X per ton), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per ton) and Belarus ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kyrgyzstan (X%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

In 2023, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in overseas purchases of whole fresh milk, when their volume increased by X% to X tons. In general, imports, however, recorded a abrupt decline. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2023, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, whole fresh milk imports skyrocketed to $X in 2023. Overall, imports, however, recorded a deep reduction. The level of import peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2023, imports failed to regain momentum.
